Write a beautiful wiki article: a worked Markdown example

A ready-to-learn article structure using headings, steps, tables, links and callouts.

Good wiki articles answer a real question. A useful title says what the reader will accomplish: How to link Twitch, not just Twitch.

A structure you can copy

  1. Begin with one or two sentences saying what the feature is and where it lives.
  2. Add a Before you start section if the reader must be signed in or have a feature enabled.
  3. Add a How to do it section with numbered, clickable steps.
  4. Explain what the result should look like after saving.
  5. Add Common problems with actionable fixes rather than vague advice.
  6. Link to related pages or articles.

Formatting examples

Type Write this in the editor
Heading ## How to do it
Smaller heading ### Step details
Bold **Save**

Code ` settings `

Use lines beginning with 1. for a numbered procedure, or - for an ordinary list. You can write a tip using the following pattern:

> [!TIP]
> Check your profile again after saving.

Propose a page or edit

Open Contribute to the Wiki. Choose a new article or an edit to an existing one. Use the Preview control before submitting. Members' submissions go to an admin approval queue; the public article stays as it was until approved.

Important Don't add passwords, private logs or another person's private details to a public guide. Only include instructions you can verify from the actual site.
